FAQ
Questions I'm glad you asked.
Coaching can feel unfamiliar at first. Here are honest answers to the questions I hear most often.

What is a recovery coach?
A recovery coach is a trained partner who helps you build and sustain a life without alcohol. Coaching is forward-focused and practical: we clarify what you want, identify what gets in the way, and create a plan you can actually follow. I bring both professional training (Certified Addiction Recovery Coach, CARC) and lived experience, plus tools from SMART Recovery.
Is this the same as therapy?
No. Therapy often explores past trauma, mental health diagnoses, and deep emotional processing. Coaching focuses on the present and future: goals, habits, accountability, and the practical work of building a life you do not need to escape. Coaching and therapy can work beautifully alongside each other, but they are not the same service.
Do I need to be sober already to work with you?
No. You don't need to be 'ready' or already sober. People come to coaching at many different points: curious about cutting back, starting over after a difficult period, or wanting support to sustain sobriety long-term. Wherever you are right now is a valid place to begin.
What happens in a free consultation?
It is a relaxed, confidential conversation with no pressure. You'll share a little about where you are, I'll explain how coaching works, and we'll decide together whether it feels like a good fit. There's nothing to prepare and no obligation to continue.
Still wondering if this is for you?
The easiest way to find out is a short, no-pressure conversation. I'll answer your questions and we can see if coaching feels right.
